Moda Operandi, Inc Looking for Junior Software Engineer at Brooklyn, NY Full Time

The retail space is one of the most rapidly changing industries today, and Moda stays at the forefront of those moves because of its innovative engineering team. The entire tech stack is built in-house, using the latest tools and frameworks. However, we will move to a modern, industry standard Ecommerce platform this year and are looking for someone to join our team to help us in launching this initiative.

This is a remote position.

Primary Responsibilities, Include

• Work closely within the web team and assist with all functions of software coding and design.
• Learn the codebase, implement unit tests, bug fixes, and features.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Debug and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
• Understand system function end to end and jump into building / improving any part of our platform.
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, out-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
• Help build the Moda Tech brand and culture, both internally and externally.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders and peers to gather requirements and provide project updates.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Collaborate with the product team in domain-driven, cross-functional team setup.
• Ship code on a regular basis, and make an impact on our customers’ experience.

Qualifications/Ideal Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience working as a software engineer.
• Basic understanding of full-stack development.
• Experience in web development (HTML/CSS/Javascript).
• Experience with APIs and third-party integrations.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies or platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
• Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly when needed.
• Knowledge of Shopify is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time; Remote position

Salary: $85,000 – 107,000 annually + Discretionary Bonus & Equity Eligible
