The Company
Job Purpose
Komatsu Mining Technology Solution’s Engineering teams are responsible for crafting innovative solutions for some of the work’s largest mobile mining equipment. Working with our partners around the globe, you can help build the next generation of technology & platforms that will deliver sustainable changes in the mining industry for generations to come.
We are looking for a Software Architect to help us define and implement key domain services for our next generation of geospatial solutions. Reporting directly to the Chief Architect, you will work embedded in a hand selected engineering group, supported by Komatsu’s wealth of industry experience, people, and process. This team will build the machine Guidance services and components to support manned and automated equipment on our Intellimine Synergy platform, starting with the Dozer.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Work with key stakeholders to capture requirements, dependencies, and deliverables.

Lead technical designs; provide oversight for design implementations and codebase; ensure industry standards and best practices are applied in technical designs and code development.

Make major architectural decisions in a timely manner, balancing comprehensive research and pragmatism.

Actively collaborate with Configuration Management to establish and maintain consistency of the solution attributes.
-
Comply with higher level architecture decisions, using the proper channels when needed to suggest changes and improvements.
Required Skills
-
Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or equivalent.
-
Extensive experience in a senior Software Development position.
-
Proven experience coding languages, preferably Java, Kotlin, C/C++, C#

Proven experience with good design practices, coding standards, source control and branching strategies.

Proven experience with Configuration Management/Software Testing concepts, frameworks, and best practices.

Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
Desired Skills

Good understanding about scalable and distributed architectures, its challenges and best practices.

Knowledge about the opensource Software industry and its usage in high-scale architectures.

Distributed and OS agnostic computing technologies including Docker.

Cloud deployment and hosting technologies.

Microsoft DevOps, GIT.

Geospatial data modeling and management.
