About The Role

Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Finance Manager will enjoy working alongside the Financial Controller in a high performing team of six with one direct report.

The role offers variety with the key areas of responsibility:

• Internal reporting and controls
• Overseeing the maintenance of adequate systems of internal control
• Overseeing the establishment and maintenance of all financial systems
• Ensuring that internal/management treasury reports are accurate, timely and of a high quality
• Ongoing implementation of the delegated authorities
• Financial analysis and modelling
• Preparation of forecasts and ad hoc analytics support in relation to macro business economics, business growth and investment opportunities
• Development of best practice processes, identifying business systems improvements including methods of work and analysis methods, contributing to continuous improvement
• Managing and maintaining tools and models that underpin business decisions
• Providing financial expertise in any growth opportunities and project evaluations (includes providing support to the business development manager)
• Relationships with lenders and insurers
• Management of the compliance requirements for lenders
• Managing bank relationships, and co-ordinating and participating in regular meetings with lenders
• Co-ordinating the administration and arrangement of the company’s insurance programme, including co-ordination of and participation in meetings with local and overseas underwriters, insurance presentations, risk assessments
• Assisting in the review of uninsured risk to ensure that appropriate insurance is in place to protect the Group’s assets
• Managing the rolling cashflow and liquidity requirements through the corporate model and diary cash flow
• Management of financial derivatives, including processing, reconciliation and fair value assessments of Interest Rate Swaps, Foreign currency contracts etc
• Financial reporting and governance
• Oversight of the preparation of external/statutory group financial statements in accordance with the NZ IFRS and complying with all legislative/governance requirements
• Compiling of the relevant Audit & Risk Committee and Board reports (including Annual / half-year financial statements, internal audit plans,etc)
• Compliance
• Liaising with external auditors
• Effective overseeing outsourced payroll functions
• Oversight and management of tax obligations

About You

You will be a Chartered Accountant and current member of CAANZ (or equivalent professional body); and preferably have experience working within one of the larger or Big 4 Consulting firms, with the drive to learn and desire to deliver high quality work, be that management reports, financial analysis, financial statements, or writing Board reports.

You enjoy building relationships with team members, as well as working closely with and partnering with senior leaders in the business and external stakeholders and partners including Banks, Insurance companies, and External Auditors.

Our client is keen for someone to be happy with some travel between the Northland offices and Auckland. If living in Auckland, you will be willing to commute weekly up to Northland; staying overnight for 1-2 nights, being there for ideally 3 days per week.

Alternatively, you could live in Northland and commute once or twice a month to the Central Auckland office. There is the flexibility to work partly remotely from home too.
