About The Role

This is a broad generalist HR Advisor role with lots of variety reporting to the GM, People & Culture, working in a team of four including an HR Business Partner and HR Administrator.

Some Of The Key Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders across the business to provide a high level of professional HR advice and services, serving as the primary point of contact for HR issues and queries
• Establish and maintain all formal HR documentation, developing and updating policies and processes where necessary
• Keep up to date with relevant New Zealand legislation, and in conjunction with GM People & Culture, make recommendations to the business in HR best practice
• Lead and coordinate talent acquisition and onboarding processes ensuring compliance with hiring procedures and immigration requirements
• ACC Compliance; ensuring communication between, managers, staff, payroll and HR and that work accidents have been logged in the H&S system
• Communicate with ACC officers and managers to assist return to work programmes and facilitate process for medical incapacity if required
• Oversee the Immigration Accredited Employer Work Visa accreditation, ensuring renewals are undertaken in a timely manner and relevant compliance training is undertaken
• Assist with the development and maintenance of practices (and associated paperwork) around recruitment, onboarding, induction, coaching, promotions, succession planning, career development and any other attraction and retention initiatives
• Assist with compensation, benefits, learning and development and employee engagement
• Assist with facilitating the performance management cycle and talent and compensations review process
• Assist with the design, delivery and coordination of training programmes, workshops, and bite-sized learning sessions
• Regularly visit operational sites to ensure understanding of what is happening at site level and what support is required
• Manage or contribute to HR projects and initiatives
• Proactively coach managers in effective employee management strategies and processes including: managing for good performance, managing for poor performance and managing the disciplinary process
• Confidently lead all employee relations cases within your portfolio – running investigations, disciplinaries and PIPs from end to end (along with managing personal grievances, should there be any), ensuring accurate and concise documentation of all processes
• End to end ER case management
• Undertake and support restructuring consultation processes as required
• Deliver training to Managers in ER and HR related policies and procedures to ensure consistency in application across the organisation

About You

Highly personable with a sense of fun, you’ll be positive and adaptable, able to build credibility and trusting relationships quickly with a diversity of people, inspiring, empowering and influencing others.

As a generalist HR practitioner, with at least 3 years solid ER experience, you will be up to date with working knowledge of HR trends and NZ employment legislation, experienced with providing HR advice and dealing with ER issues, recruitment, and be competent in using Microsoft based programmes.

Day to day your work will have included supporting a wide range of managers through end-to-end ER issues, providing high quality, effective and practical coaching, guidance and advice.
