You manage the media agenda in a particular geography.

How you will contribute

You will help execute the media strategy in your assigned area, business unit, country, or category. In partnership with the marketing team, you will implement a media plan and assess the effectiveness of that plan with a focus on return on investment. You will also build relationship with agencies. As a particularly advanced digital marketer, you will help drive our understanding and use of digital platforms in our marketing plans and be a source of learning and development for the wider marketing function.

The US Media Lead will provide thought leadership and expertise on how media fits within a connected marketing world and collaborate with brand, technology, creative and data & analytics teams to bring our marketing plans and purpose to life.

Purpose of Role

In Marketing & Media, you’ll be the one who first captures our consumers’ imaginations, giving them a tantalizing taste of our brands. The Media Lead position supports the development and implementation of consumer first communication strategies across paid platforms across MDLZ brands in collaboration with local/global MDLZ teams and agency partners – driving innovative and effective experiences. The individual must be a capable manager who is confident and experienced in leading agencies to deliverable industry-leading level of quality. They are expected to be a thought leader, capable of optimizing current efforts and bringing new insights through a mixture of innovation and broad, creative thinking.

Main Responsibilities/Functional Requirements

• Communication Planning & Media Investment Execution. Provide technical expertise on how media fits within a connected marketing world and collaborate with brand, ecommerce, creative and data & analytics teams to ensure that media plans are strategically aligned. Strong competency in modern media approaches, investment, and strategy. Specific workstreams include:
  • Orchestrate annual brand communication strategies removing silos and friction to deliver against one holistic brand brief
  • Partnership with brand & internal Ecommerce team including building holistic E2E brand / category executions
  • Management of paid brand working media including implementation/optimization and budget management
  • Empathy @ Scale: Ways of working, leading daily workstreams and meetings between brand / creative / media / digital partners

• Marketing Effectiveness & Efficiency . Strong understanding of ROI to ensure we optimize cost, while accelerating effectiveness. This workstream includes:
  • Quarterly data validation, setting context, optimization strategies to improve ROI performance.

Qualifications and Experiences:

• BA (Marketing or Business Administration) required
• 4+ years of cross-media strategy development, investment, and implementation (client or agency) rooted in deep understanding of consumer behaviors, data, and media partner capabilities
• Problem solver with exceptional ability to digest new information, master new techniques and translate knowledge to others in highly engaged environment
• Experience managing large agency teams / resources either within a client marketing organization or at an agency
• Ability to prioritize and organize issues/projects for self, internal team and external agency partners
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Digital Native. Fluent and demonstrated capability to advance a digital agenda for paid, owned, and earned media, while building organizational competency.

• Ability to analyse metrics & data to help with paid media optimization
• Ensure agency relationships continue to be strengthened by quality of deliverables and brand satisfaction.
