Under direct supervision from Job and Family Services Supervisor, Job and Family Services Manager or higher level administrator performs receptionist and clerical support services by interviewing applicants for public assistance to determine type of assistance desired and refers applicant to appropriate personnel and performs variety of clerical tasks related to completion and maintenance of case records which includes taking photographs of customers for purpose of identification cards and issuance of entitlement documents and determining eligibility for emergency assistance and entering and retrieving data via computer systems.
Screen applicants or recipients to determine type of public assistance being requested and refers applicant or recipient to appropriate personnel, unit or government agency and to provide or accepts documents from applicant or recipient and performs variety of clerical tasks including telephone service related to completion and maintenance of case records including identification of recipient and issuance of documents and retrieving same and entering relevant data into database and verifying and retrieving said data.
Maintains case records, completes forms, prepares reports, types correspondence, prepares spreadsheets, prepares mailings, receives mail, completes daily activities report, arranges transportation, provides community resource information to customers.
Receives and relays information in person or by telephone to recipients, attends conferences, training programs and workshops.

High school diploma or equivalent AND 3 mos. experience in customer service plus 3 months experience in office practices and procedures, database use, and spreadsheets, or completion of customer service certificate program OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements.

Part-time Employees (Non-Benefits Eligible) (20 hours or less per week): Benefits include Long Term Sick Leave Accrual, Paid Personal Leave, and holiday pay for hours scheduled to work on holidays.
Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active
pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation.
Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
