The Role

The Formulation Generalist is responsible for completing routine formula updates and working with the Formulation Specialists to complete related administrative duties in a timely manner.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

• Complete formula changes as provided by nutritional consultants or technical team member in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
• Support a cross-functional team approach by breaking down silos and encouraging open and honest interdepartmental communication
• Administrative and regulatory auditing, updating and archiving of feed labels and formulations
• Assist Formulation Specialists with ingredient substitutions as required
• Support procurement and production during unplanned ingredient outages
• Support Safety Data Sheets administration for manufactured products
• Other duties as required

Skills & Experience Required

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Display honesty, integrity, and a strong sense of ethics in all decisions and actions
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers
• Ability to effectively navigate multiple software programs
• Ability to prioritize individual responsibilities and effectively manage time
• Ability to maintain accurate results while completing repetitive tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications include

• General agriculture industry knowledge and/or experience would be considered an asset
• Strong Microsoft computing and applications skills
• Experience using formulation, ration balancing, accounting and manufacturing software is considered an asset
• Familiarity with CFIA, FeedAssure/HACCP and Health Canada regulatory and audit requirements would be considered an asset
