- Graduate Software Engineer – hybrid working in Richmond.* Exciting role offering training and development for global solutions provider.* Exposure to skills including: Python, C#, Xamarin, HTML, JS, CSS, Multi-Value DBKick-start your software career in an exciting new opportunity with well-supported career development and training for a Graduate Software Engineer to join a respected growing global technology solutions provider with an annual turnover in excess of $6 Billion, employing c.15,000 worldwide.Working in our client’s Enterprise Systems business division based in Richmond, you will be delivering and maintaining innovative enterprise application solutions for a range of clients in high profile vertical market sectors, in particular the public sector for Central Government, Rail and Care & Support.Candidates will have graduated in a related degree in IT, Computing, Mathematics or Science and be able to demonstrate experience including (but not limited to) the following headline skills:* Python* C#, Xamarin* HTML, JavaScript, CSS* Unidata, SB+ or other Multi-Value databaseA motivated self-starter able to work on their own initiative but well-supported in a team environment, the successful candidate will be required to plan, develop, test, and document custom-engineered programs and systems to meet our clients and business needs. You will be actively involved in either maintaining or enhancing existing software for clients or writing (under guidance) new applications using a variety of technologies.Key Responsibilities* The primary role of a Software Engineer is the development of new and existing software and the second- and third-line support of existing software through the support process.* As a Software Engineer you will be working with our multi-functional application used by a variety of public and private sector clients with QA and testing at the heart of our delivery processes and procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to: * o Analysing software issues* o Creating and applying software fixes* o Administering clients’ databases* o Developing and maintaining administrator tools and utilities* o Upgrading clients to the latest releases* o Data migration* o Adherence to quality processes* o Analysing new user requirements* o Designing and developing new functionality* o Assist Project Teams in the requirements captureKey Attributes & SkillsEssential* Educated to degree level, with strong science, mathematics or IT background.* Proven interest in software development is essential.* Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, E-Mail and web browsingDesirable * Previous experience with software development either in commercial or academic setting.* Desirable technology experience include, but not limited to: * Python* C#, Xamarin* HTML, JavaScript, CSS* Unidata, SB+ or other Multi-Value databaseHybrid role Monday-Friday 0900-1730 with flexibility to work from home once established in the role with mandatory minimum days in the office of Tuesday / Wednesday.
