Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Controller for a range of projects for government and institutional clients across Transport, Buildings, Infrastructure and Water projects.
The Role
As a Senior Project Controller, you will be providing oversight on our major project commissions and responsible for influencing, implementing, and advising our clients to help them deliver outstanding infrastructure.
You will have an eye for detail and be able to follow procedures, requirements and rules while maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information. Operating as part of the wider project team you will use a high level of initiative and ability to organise and prioritise tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Controller within our advisory team, your key responsibilities will include coordinating project design teams comprised of architects, engineers, planners, environmental experts, and other specialists. You will be instrumental in implementing and maintaining project control measures to ensure seamless project execution. Your ability to cultivate and nurture client relationships through successful project delivery and effective stakeholder coordination will be essential.
Your role will be crucial in driving and supporting the implementation of effective project control practices to achieve project goals efficiently. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project programs, providing regular progress reports, and utilizing finance systems and procedures to deliver comprehensive project performance reports.
In addition to internal stakeholders, you will actively review, monitor, and report project progress to external partners. Collaborating proactively within the project management team, you will play a key role in ensuring cohesive teamwork throughout project lifecycles. Furthermore, your expertise will be sought in advising clients on project establishment, governance, delivery, and procurement matters.
Candidate Specification
About You
We are seeking a Senior Project Controller with a proven track record of working on large projects within engineering consultancies and construction firms. The ideal candidate should have experience in managing large engineering projects or alliances involving multiple partners.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Commercial Management. Proficiency in various software tools, including Power BI, MS Excel, MS Project, and Primavera (P6), is mandatory. Exceptional report writing skills with a high degree of accuracy are essential.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of Earned Value and its application within engineering projects. They should also have experience in conducting Project Control systems reviews and needs analysis. The ability to comprehend complex contractual requirements is desirable.
