SCOPE OF THE JOB
The HR Director is responsible for providing leadership and direction, encompassing a broad range of resources related to personnel recruitment for hourly, exempt, and temporary staffing needs, as well as the management of contractual staffing requirements. The HR Director offers strategic guidance, utilizing their expertise as an HR professional to establish and implement employee policies and procedures within the organization. This individual must maintain a positive attitude and contribute to fostering a constructive work environment with high employee morale.
Responsibilities
▪ Manage and oversee the company’s recruitment efforts.
▪ Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including necessary paperwork and training.
▪ Coordinate interviews, drug tests, and background checks for new applicants.
▪ Research and stay updated on industry trends to enhance processes and update documentation, training, and retention programs for added value to the company.
▪ Implement disciplinary actions, up to and including termination if required.
▪ Oversee benefit packages, and enrollments.
▪ Develop and update policies and procedures as needed.
▪ Maintain electronic employee records and company documents.
▪ Ensure compliance with legal and government regulations.
▪ Collaborate with retail, logistics, and accounting teams to support payroll processes.
▪ Independently address and resolve labor relations and employee issues, collaborating with labor and legal teams when necessary.
▪ Address employee relations matters, such as unemployment claims, employee complaints, harassment allegations, and other employment-related charges from employees and/or local, state, or federal agencies.
▪ Apply analytical skills to collect and synthesize large quantities of data, formulate recommendations based on data trends and insights.
Qualifications
▪ Over 10 years of experience in HR positions.
▪ Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
▪ Proven ability to perform effectively under high-pressure situations.
▪ Exceptional blend of business acumen, empathy, and in-depth legal knowledge.
▪ Strong recruiting experience.
▪ Proven ability to understand business objectives and design/implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance business goals, productivity, and the development of the HR function within the company.
▪ Proficiency in transitioning seamlessly between strategic thinking and tactical execution.
▪ Successful track record of building and promoting positive employee and labor relations for large hourly employee populations in a retail or warehouse environment.
▪ Experience in managing/approving accident insurance claims and leading large-scale, cross-functional projects with strong stakeholder management and alignment.
