The Public Policy and Communications Manager will lead, initiate and drive the development of strategic and integrated policy & communications campaigns and programmes internally and/or in conjunction with third parties to shape and drive changes in Our key priority areas. You will contribute to establishing Our company as a healthcare leader and partner of choice and enables and influences healthcare reform in the therapy areas we operate in.
Primary Activities
Analyse healthcare policy / environment change, understand how it impacts on our business and share understanding across the organisation
Develop a policy plan for key therapy areas and in collaboration with a cross-functional team, execute the plan.
Working with the broader External Affairs team, use intelligence, knowledge and insight to analyse and shape trends & policy, prioritise the issues and review and propose strategic responses and drive change.
Leverage our Company’s footprint in Ireland to drive access to key political influencers and build those key partnership relationships
Research and formulate our Company’s policy positions on key national and therapy area policy issues and use to mobilise engagement on key issues and drive effective debate
Skills Required
5 years in a policy / public affairs role in the health area e.g. DoH, HSE.
Educated to degree level ideally in politics, policy or related field
Communications, project management, collaboration and influencing skills really important
A strong network in healthcare policy arenas
Consultancy in public affairs experience would also be beneficial.
