Munro lab Looking for Youth partner/Patient partner/Research assistant at Vancouver, BC Full Time

The Youth/Patient partner will support a qualitative research project which explores the experiences of immigrant youth with polycystic ovary syndrome in an advisory role. This role involves approximately 10 hours of work from now until December at $30/hour.

What you’ll do

• Assist in developing, reviewing, and providing feedback on study materials such as interview guide
• Review and comment on proposed questionnaires and data collection methods
• Ensure the methods selected are appropriate for patients
• Co-develop patient recruitment strategy
• The youth partner can also choose to participate in the research in the role of a participant if they meet the eligibility requirement, a $50 honorarium will be offered for this
• If the youth/ patient partner would like to engage further, their ideas are welcome
• There will be a monthly meeting (remotely) from the time of employment until December 2023, approximately 1 hour per meeting at $30/hour

What you bring

• You are a youth passionate about improving healthcare services for immigrant youth with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) in Canada
• Living with PCOS or being an immigrant youth is an asset but not a requirement

Who we are

The Munro Lab is a UBC-based team led by Dr. Sarah Munro. We are an enthusiastic and equity-oriented group of health services researchers using qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate the factors that influence the implementation of evidence-based innovations in sexual and reproductive health care. We engage deeply with a multitude of knowledge partners across the health system, academia, and community-based organizations, practicing integrated knowledge translation in all our projects. The research that we lead is collaborative, action-oriented, reciprocal, and focused on community-driven solutions. With our partners, we co-develop evidence to support individuals, their families, and care teams to make informed, shared healthcare decisions.
