MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityandone (1) year of experience in computer systems analysis and/or computer programming;or
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems;or
Two (2) years of experience as described above and either (1) completion of a 720 classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry), or (2) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems.
Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.
Possession of a valid Driver License.

JOB DUTIES:
Idenitfies Division of Plant Industry (DPI) user requirements that can be resolved through the utilization of Smartsheet and/or similar software. Designs and implements solutions. Documents user needs and software requirements. Provides information and support to DPI user community.
Assists supervisor and co-workers with designing, developing, and implementing applications, along with databases and related subsystems, following the department’s methodology. Documents user needs and system requirements.
Reviews and trains on new technologies, programming languages, and coding methods for managing applications. Participates in process review, analysis, data collection, and new tool/process identification that will improve operations within DPI. Works as a team to improve processes.
Performs other related work, as directed by supervisor or Division Information Officer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Smartsheet and/or related software.
Knowledge of mobile development and development/programming software.
Knowledge of and skill in Microsoft Office products – expert-level proficiency.
Skill with computers and data processing operations.
Skill in the design of databases, user interfaces, and web applications.
Skill in HTML.
Skill in SQL.
Ability to learn Oracle and SQL Server; Entity Framework; .Net Framework; ASP.Net; IIS, PL/SQL; Visual Studio; JavaScript; jQuery; object-oriented programming: Java, C#, Visual Basics, and C++.
Ability to document user requirements.
Ability to map out business processes and identify user needs.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
