The primary responsibilities for the Lotto NZ Procurement Specialist are to partner with all areas of the business to optimise the procurement process at Lotto NZ to ensure:

• A transparent and efficient process is carried out;
• The best and most cost-effective suppliers are procured; and
• The business is supported to effectively manage their suppliers.

What you will be doing:

Focusing on commercial procurement by supporting the business in:

• The preparation of well-considered and appropriate procurement plans and tender documentation to help identify commercial needs, risks, and rules including open advertising requirements while ensuring that any procurement is being exercised in accordance with the business strategy.
• Driving robust and efficient procurement processes across the business through trainings and regular updates including annual procurement plans.
• Reporting to and liaising with MBIE and other Government entities where required.
• Supplier management and assisting the General Counsel and the business to ensure contracts, tenders and legal documentation comply with best business practice and are consistent with Lotto NZ’s commercial objectives.

You will provide coaching across the business to get the best outcomes from the suppliers and providers we engage to ensure we are fulfilling our obligations to maximise profits that go back to New Zealand communities.

You will work with Lotto NZ’s external procurement provider in any large or specialised procurements.

What you will bring:

Great communication skills and a strong dedication to ensuring the business understands the importance of good procurement in getting the best outcomes for Lotto NZ and in turn New Zealand communities.

You will also bring excellent time management and organisation skills and proven ability to manage external communications and supplier submissions in the tender process.

You will possess a strong commitment to working collaboratively with both the business and external stakeholders to get the best procurement outcomes for Lotto NZ.

A good understanding of evaluation models and experience in procurement software/tools for effective reporting and supplier evaluations. Ideally you will also have experience in Government Procurement Rules and the use of the Government Electronic Tender System (GETS).
