Mythical Hiring for Writer at Burbank, CA Full Time

Position Overview: Along with the rest of the writing team, this role is responsible for pitching and writing episodes for Good Mythical Morning, Good Mythical More, and other ancillary Mythical Entertainment properties. They will work closely with Producers to see their scripts through from initial concept, to beats, art and props, and the actual filming of the episode. This position follows the lead of our Head Writer and reports directly to the EP/Showrunner of Good Mythical Morning.

Responsibilities

• Pitch episodes for GMM and GMMore on a regular, recurring basis, including but not limited to a monthly meeting with the CEOs and CCO.
• Conduct the requisite research for & write approximately 3 – 4 GMM and GMMore episode scripts per slate (monthly).
• Contribute to meetings such as: Script Punch Up, title pitches, episode pitches, and other creative brainstorms.
• Work closely with episode Producers to ensure script elements meet the Mythical standard and capture the intended vision.
• Draft creative briefs for future celebrity guests at a professional level; write scripts for branded integration spots; review episode edits.
• Participate in Art meetings to discuss the details of any props or art-related builds within their scripts.
• Participate in Culinary meetings to discuss the details of any dishes or food creations within their scripts.
• Participate in GMM shoots for their episodes, helping to ensure their vision is smoothly executed.

Requirements

• 2 – 3 years of experience in a writer’s room or writing on a TV or Digital series.
• Thorough understanding of the writing and production processes.
• A strong grasp of YouTube culture and what drives interest in spaces like TikTok, Instagram, etc.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while remaining highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Excellent work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confidence in ownership of fully-realized scripts is a leading expectation of every writer on the team. Including critical attention to detail, complete creative production consideration, and a working knowledge of the show.
• Thorough understanding of Google Suite of apps (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, GMail, Forms, and Calendar), as well as being overall tech savvy.
