You will be joining a progressive SRE team who work on current technologies provided through the AWS and Azure platforms. A focus will be placed on your ability to demonstrate an understanding of development practices, CI/CD and containers. As a custodian of production systems, you will be improving the run engineering landscape through the application of a software engineering mindset to operational challenges.

You will:

• Analyse the platform to design, maintain and engineer performance improvements.
• Execute and improve current processes via automation to reduce manual effort.
• Develop and extend internal tooling where applicable to run the platform more efficiently.
• Deploy and validate changes to ensure the platform is compliant with NAB requirements.
• Become a go to person for developers and service team members for troubleshooting.
• Join the on-call roster to provide out of hours technical support and incident response.
• Work closely with developers, devops, and site reliability engineers to execute platform requirements and priorities.

What you will bring:

• Proven experience working in a devops or cross-functional development team.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using a tech stack of GIT, AWS, Jenkins, Artifactory and Docker.
• Basic understanding of microservice architectures involving API Gateways.
• Understanding of AWS particularly EC2, ECS, VPC, Cloudwatch and Cloudformation.
• Understanding of the Azure platform and its core services.
• Environment monitoring and dashboarding experience with tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics or ELK.
• Experience in use of Linux based operating systems.

You will be part of the Technology Platforms team that builds and supports modern cloud-based services running several hundred transactions per seconds. These are highly performant and resilient and ability to make and deploy changes within hours. The team supports modern engineering practices across multiple languages java, node utilising container and serverless deployments.
