Summary
Responsiblefor managing the process for purchasing and distributing materials, equipment,and supplies in an organization by performing the following duties personallyor through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities
Studiesspecifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting andcompletion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
Assemblesmembers of organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other workers)at start of project.
Ordersprocurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times toconform to work schedules.
Conferswith and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planningand executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinatingvarious phases of construction to prevent delays.
Conferswith supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints andgrievances within work force.
Conferswith supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers oftools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve constructionmethods.
Inspectswork in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and theadherence to construction schedules.
Preparesor reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts workschedules as indicated by reports.
Directsworkers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects forexisting installations.
Immediatelyreport all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor.
Thisposition has supervisory responsibilities.
Otherduties as assigned.
Qualifications
MinimumRequirements
High School Diploma orGED equivalent required.
Associate’s degree (AA)or equivalent from two-year-college, or technical school preferred.
Minimum five (5) yearsMaterials Supervisor experience in the construction industry required.
Experience creating andmanaging all aspects of company materials program in the construction industry.
Advancedskillset with Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates will be required to complete a skills evaluation test.
Driver’s License and an acceptabledriving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under companyvehicle insurance policy.
