Napier City Business Inc. (NCBI), is an incorporated society established in 1998 to assist with creating a vibrant CBD, through establishing activities that increase foot traffic to the area and advocating on behalf of the businesses to ensure the CBD thrives.

We are looking for a marketing, communications, and storyteller to help us spread the ‘good word’ about businesses within our CBD membership. You will play an integral part in our close-knit team. We want to learn from you too! 

You’ll hit the ground running and have a proactive and ‘can-do’ approach to creating compelling narratives that effectively communicate the brand’s message to various target audiences. You will work closely with our close-knit team to identify the key selling points of the products or services of NCBI and our members and use creative storytelling techniques to make them come alive for customers. Your role will involve developing marketing materials such as email campaigns, social media content, product descriptions, and other collateral that resonates with the target audience and drives engagement. You will also be responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of your campaigns and adjusting them as needed to improve results.

Key Responsibilities
 

Marketing/ Storytelling:
 

• Develop creative and engaging marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences
• Collaborate with the marketing team to identify key selling points and create compelling stories that communicate those points effectively
• Write and edit copy for a variety of marketing materials, including email campaigns, social media content, product descriptions, and other collateral
• Conduct research to stay up-to-date on market trends and customer preferences
• Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and make recommendations for improvement based on data-driven insights
• Collaborate with designers and other team members to ensure marketing materials and visually appealing and consistent with brand guidelines
• Stay up-to-date on emerging marketing trends and techniques and incorporate them into marketing strategies
• Attend industry events and conferences to network and stay current on best practice.
   

External Communications:

• Provide the strategic direction for all marketing activity within NCBI, ensuring we are communicating effectively to the right audiences at the right time in the right way
• Manage relationships with supplies to deliver effective brand management, social media, PR, and information dissemination
• Ensure high-quality, timely communication to members and other stakeholders through a range of channels
   

Events:

• Providing support at our events throughout the year, setting the tone through our communications.
• Oversee the delivery of an annual AGM

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
• Proven experience in marketing and storytelling, with a portfolio of successful campaigns
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and channels
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform marketing decisions
• Experience with social media platforms, email marketing, and other digital marketing tools
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of SEO is a plus
