Gallery Educator – Maternity cover
The post holder will contribute to delivery of the Learning Strategy which aims to create a world leading, unique and transformational Learning Programme which is fully inclusive and fit for purpose for the twenty-first century. It has been developed to support the National Gallery’s aspiration to share the collection with the widest possible audience. It creates a new vision of outreach, online and onsite learning which will enable the National Gallery to achieve 3 key ambitions:
- Create a National Learning Service, working in partnership with children and young people across the UK to inspire positive change through art and culture, for themselves and others
- Create lifelong learning opportunities for adults
- Develop an audience that truly reflects the diversity of the UK population
You will be someone with a recognised qualification in art and design (or similar equivalent) and an education qualification or equivalent experience. You will have experience of developing and delivering art-related sessions in at least one of the following: a gallery, museum, cultural venue, or educational setting. You will have knowledge of Western European painting and a passion for sharing this knowledge with others, using it to facilitate discussions or to deliver practical creative sessions.
An experienced communicator, you will be someone who works collaboratively and constructively as part of a team and be committed to developing practice in partnership with children and young people.
