National Service & Controls Hiring for Data Entry Clerk Job at Redlands, CA Full Time

National Service & Controls, Inc. (NSC) is a growing company that provides commercial Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and fire safety system installation, maintenance and repair services to large, national chain retailers and other commercial clients.

We are looking for a Data Entry Clerk who will support NSC’s customer service team by inputting customer work orders and technician reports into a computer database, providing general clerical support and ensuring excellent service to all customers. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, computer savvy and detail-oriented to ensure accurate record keeping and reporting.

The company will rely on you for having accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through a digital database.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed data entry of customer work orders and updates from field technicians on work completed into computer databases.
• Prompt, professional communication with customer service team, technicians and customers regarding work orders.
• Providing general clerical support (e.g., answering phones, filing, sending faxes, copying, etc.).
• Transfer data from paper or digital formats into computer files or database systems using a keyboard.
• Type in data provided directly from customers or technicians in the field.
• Create, update and maintain spreadsheets reports or other electronic documents
• Verify and validate data by comparing it to source documents
• Update existing data
• Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
• Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
• Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

Skills

• Proven experience as data entry clerk — minimum of six months (one year preferred) of experience performing similar duties, preferably in a similar industry (construction, HVAC, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
• Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
• Basic understanding of databases
• Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
• Great attention to detail
• High school degree or equivalent (preferred)

Pay: Up to $41,600.00 per year
