Job Description
The Dept of English Language and Literature at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position. The position is for two years, beginning around August 2022.
The research fellow will work with Dr. Nick Huang on the theme of cross-linguistic variation in the formal syntactic and semantic properties of attitude predicates (such as “think”, “want”, “know”). Of particular interest is understanding what the range of variation might be and how that might or might not pose complications for the learning of these predicates. The research fellow will assist with developing, designing, and conducting studies to address these questions.
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Funds exist for travel to international conferences.
Information about working in NUS and living in Singapore is available at http://www.nus.edu.sg/careers/whyjoinus.htm. The NUS Department of English Language and Literature website can be found at http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/ell/.
The deadline for applications is 15 July 2022.
Applicants should send to the application email below:

There is no need for reference letters at this stage of the application, although candidates should list two referees (names, affiliations, and contact information) in their cover letter.
Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Please contact Nick Huang (see contact information below) with any questions.
For further enquiries, please email: *******@nus.edu.sg
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will bring familiarity with these questions and/or have published on related topics. Previous experience with cross-linguistic research, psycholinguistics (especially language acquisition), experimental and corpus methods is highly desirable. There is no teaching obligation. The Research Fellow must have their PhD in hand by the start of the position.
