National University of Singapore Hiring For Research Fellow, Drug Discovery and Optimization Platform at Singapore Full Time

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Fellow position in the Drug Discovery & Optimization Platform (DDOP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. DDOP focuses on drug screening technology development, molecule chemical modification and optimization, and drug screening services. Appointments will be made on a ONE YEAR contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The Research Fellow (RF) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the DDOP Director to ensure the successful completion of the proposed activities on time.

Main duties and responsibilities

The RF is expected to:

1. design and conduct in-vitro cell culture screening assays
2. develop in-vivo animal models for drug screening
3. design and conduct biochemical and molecular biological assays
4. design and optimize molecule chemical modifications
5. support good laboratory management

Qualifications

The applicant should:

1. have a PhD degree in the areas of biomedical science or medicinal chemistry  
2. be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature and attention to details
3. have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS office, PowerPoint and chemical drawing
4. have research expertise in biomedical and chemical experimental techniques

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
