National University of Singapore Hiring For Research Fellow, Electrical Demand Response and Energy Markets at Singapore Full Time

Job Description

NUS is looking for a Research Fellow to work on Electrical Demand Response and Energy Markets. The job requires the candidate to test the developed algorithms, first via simulations and then in a testbed environment. Further, the candidate should work towards converting the tested algorithm into translational research.

Qualifications

• Possess a recognised PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with specialisation preferably in Power Systems or grid-connected power electronics.
• Able to thrive in a dynamic, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary research team.
• Familiar with emerging applications of distribution system concepts like demand response (DR), transactive energy (TE), etc.
• Able to work independently by conducting testbed-based experiments alone or in teams when required.
• Familiar with working of various components in a testbed setup, for example, inverter, solar and battery emulators, smart meters, different types of loads, etc.
• Familiar with state-of-the-art simulation platforms such as MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
• Able to work on multiple tasks and projects with teams, governmental agencies and collaborators with respect to the research.
• Able to draft research proposals, assist the PI in applying for research grants, and manage the research funds.
• Good written and communication skills.
• Open to fixed-term contract.
