Nebraska Orthopedic Center Hiring for Switchboard – Remote at Lincoln, NE Full Time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned)
- Opens /closes switchboard following standard procedure.
- Directs incoming calls in a friendly professional manner.
- Communicates general clinic information.
- Takes and directs messages to appropriate staff.
- Pages staff and makes announcements as needed.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA Guidelines.
- Responds to emergency calls according to established procedures.
- Notifies to Patient Access Assistant Manager of telephone issues and needed repair.
- Sorts and delivers daily mail and other correspondence.
- Assists other departments as directed.
- Performs related work as required
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years experience working with multi-line phone system, preferably in a health care setting preferred.
Computer Skills
1-2 years experience with personal computer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of procedures related to switchboard operations.
- Skill in screening and directing calls in pleasant and expeditious manner.
- Skill in operating switchboard console, computer and other office equipment (i.e. fax, copier, scanner)
- Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public.
- Ability to multi-task.
