This well established and successful engineering company are now seeking a driven Managing Director to further lead, develop and grow their New Zealand business.
About the Role:
Reporting internationally to the Board of Directors, your main responsibilities will be to:
● Direct the activities of the business while ensuring bottom-line profitability.
● Provide strategic advice to the Board of Directors, plan cost-effective business strategies, and develop new ideas based on market and industry.
● Establish company goals, aligned with the board and shareholder goals.
● Implementing the policies of a company and making sure that they are adhered to.
● Communicating company reports and achievements to the board, shareholders, and business partners.
● Maintaining and monitoring budgets to make sure that the business operates efficiently from a financial perspective.
● Establishing relationships with industry and marketing experts, thought leadership through publication and build the company public profile through networking, conferences, and speaking engagements.
● Making key decisions regarding the organisation and being accountable for those decisions.
● Introducing initiatives to optimise market opportunities and the use of strengths while minimising risks.
While serving as the public face of the New Zealand branch, you will supervise relevant managers and provide leadership and motivation to all employees within the company. You will be guiding and maintaining the performance of the company through effective communication and management in the best interest of the company, clients, and employees.
Skills and Qualifications:
● MBA or Degree educated or other relevant industry qualifications.
● 10 + years of experience working within engineering, oil and gas or relevant industry.
● Proven ability to lead.
● Excellent analytical skills that can be used when making critical decisions.
● The ability to think critically and strategically.
● An in-depth understanding of productivity management and how to implement change to improve productivity levels.
Leading a team with best practices, your innovative approach around systems and processes will also assist you with growth and development in this role. You will ideally have a relevant engineering, O&G or similar industrial type of technical background as well as having a strong focus on HSEQ, while strong communication skills, analytical mind and high energy levels will see you thrive in this dynamic role.
