For nearly 20 years, we have followed advancements in protection and security equipment to ensure that the professionals who depend on us are best equipped and well informed.

We are in a stage of growth with lots of exciting opportunities, and as we develop and build our team, we have a need for a full time Assistant to our Senior Procurement Officer. This role is on a temporary basis initially, although it is possible that the position will become permanent in due course.

About the role

You will actively assist in managing the company’s purchasing activity in accordance with customer requirements whilst maintaining a focus on product quality and value. Along with the Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for both the procurement process itself and the accuracy and thoroughness of all inventory database records and systems which support that process.

Who are we looking for?:

• We need a person who has solid purchasing experience which is backed by a strong knowledge of procurement best practices including all aspects of risk and compliance needs
• You should have the ability to create and maintain accurate records and purchase orders that match customer needs, and ensure all order ‘paperwork’, both physical and electronic, is accurately processed and stored in company systems
• You will need an ability to thoroughly research and evaluate supply and product options, then maintain positive supplier relationships
• A working knowledge of the NetSuite ERP system would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be provided
• We need a person who can liaise effectively with all other relevant parties to ensure best possible logistical outcomes – including internal and external warehouse and storage providers, as well as freight, transport, customs, and other suppliers
• And we want to employ a person who will develop and maintain familiarity with products and service trends by liaising with our Sales and Marketing teams in regard to current and upcoming sales, promotions and marketing activity

• Be articulate and use clear concise communication – leave no doubt in the mind of the other party (customer or colleague). Excellent written and spoken English is a must
• Show a desire to build positive relationships with colleagues (both within the immediate team and elsewhere in the Company) and with customers and suppliers
• Be organised and methodical with keen attention to detail
• Be self-motivated and independent
• Have the ability to use a laptop, plus demonstrate an excellent grasp of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Have the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Be flexible and agile in changing times

Full training will be provided.
