We are in a stage of growth with lots of exciting opportunities and as we expand across the country, we are establishing a Distribution Centre at a newly redeveloped building in Petone, Wellington.

In the initial months, this role seeks to tap into your experience as a skilled Logistics Manager to design, configure, and implement the new Distribution Centre. The focus then shifts to reviewing and defining operational policies and processes for Wellington, with the assistance of our Auckland Warehouse Manager, before settling down to ongoing management of the facility with the help of initially one Assistant, although this number is likely to grow reasonably soon.

About the role

As Manager, you will actively manage the transport, receipt, storage, and distribution of all company and customer-owned stock held in Wellington.

You will also grow and maintain relationships with other logistics providers, transport and courier companies, service suppliers, and customers, and you will be responsible for the security and premises needs of your domain in Petone.

Who are we looking for?:

• We need a person who has solid warehousing experience and is backed by a strong knowledge of modern warehousing and inventory best practices.
• You should also thoroughly understand health and safety and be able to ensure all people on site understand their responsibilities, and are always safe.
• A working knowledge of the NetSuite ERP system would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
• Your willingness not just to manage, but to take a full role in day to day warehouse activities is essential – there will be inwards goods shipments to deal with and frequent distribution of stock to customers and other company sites across the country.
• You should have the necessary skills to manage a small, but growing team, in all respects

• Be articulate and use clear, concise communication – leave no doubt in the mind of the other party (customer or colleague). Excellent written and spoken English is a must.
• Show a desire to build positive relationships with colleagues (both within the immediate team and elsewhere in the Company), customers and suppliers
• Be organised and methodical with keen attention to detail
• Be self-motivated and independent
• Have the ability to use a laptop, plus demonstrate an excellent grasp of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Have the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Be flexible and agile in changing times
• Hold a current NZ Driver’s Licence and a forklift licence

Full training will be provided.
