Hybrid (on-site Tues, Wed, Thurs only)

We are seeking an experienced System Analyst to perform data and system analysis, operationalize controls, and support data management capabilities forCompliance, Legal, Audit and Regulatory projects. This role will provide leadership and deep domain expertise for data from multiple administrative systems in the FinTech ecosystem (Wealth Management / Life Insurance / Annuity / Asset Management) to internal teams and external regulators in a timely manner.Successful candidates have extensive experience working with data analytics, data governance, and data protection with strong SQL developer experience.

Job Requirements

• Interface with business and compliance teams to understand business and regulatory requirements, and pain points that can be aided by business solutions, reports, and analytics

• Interface with technology teams to export, transform and deliver data elements to stakeholders in a timely fashion

• Perform gap analysis and end-to-end architecture assessments to determine impact, root cause analysis, and solution options

• Works with technology teams to identify and retrieve data, including client and policy level information

• Execute on various requests and requirements by sourcing raw data from multiple databases, tables and systems

• Consolidate, merge, reconcile and format large data sets from multiple sources

• Oversee data quality and ensure data is properly translated and protected

• Document the business and regulatory requirements, data elements and data mapping

• Identify, develop and implement self-service and automated solutions where appropriate

• Make recommendations for business rules and communicate develop solutions to stakeholders

• Ensure key deliverables are met in an accurate timely manner assisting in the troubleshooting of data problems and issues; make recommendations and provide alternative solutions when it applies

• Work with the business, compliance and legal departments to understand the impact of regulatory changes

• Ensure compliance with NYL security standards

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience and extensive development experience with SQL and data tools

• Strong problem analysis and problem solving

• Strong attention to accuracy and detail

• Strong ability to model current and future state business processes and data domains/entities

• Strong technical proficiency and demonstrated ability with data management technologies

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate, communicate, build relationships, and influence a community of data, risk, or IT professionals across lines of business and functional areas

• Strong written, verbal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with all levels within the organization

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple simultaneous priorities

• Ability to think end-to-end, connect moving parts, and anticipate and manage change impacts

• Ability to define and leverage metrics to drive performance and outcomes

• Ability to explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical teams

• A proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision

• Must be team oriented in interacting with a diverse group

Previous Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, systems analysis, and software development

• Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience with SQL, database technologies, and data warehouse

• Experience with data analytics, data visualization, reporting and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Spotfire, Qlik, etc.)

• Experience with use of process and data modeling techniques and tools to represent current state and future state design and concept of operations

• Experience in developing insights from the analysis of data

• Experience inthe design of controls and associated capabilities

• Experience in supporting various data management tools and technologies including but not limited to data cataloging, data quality/profiling, and data lineage

• Experience in Agile methodologies andworking knowledge of software development method

• Experience with AWS and programming languages would be a plus

• Experience with .NET would be a plus

• Insurance or financial industry (annuity, mutual funds) knowledge is highly desirable

Education

• BS in Computer Sciences/Engineering or equivalent experience preferred but not required
