Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

You have the opportunity to join the Ward 41 Vascular Surgical team as a full time Ward Clerk. This role will see you providing a high degree of clerical support to the health care team and involves a high level of customer contact.

Your duties will include:

Maintenance of patient’s files, arranging and monitoring patient movement.

Communicating, liaising and organising follow up appointments and assisting in ward management functions.

Ensuring patient charts are returned to clinical records

Ordering of equipment for the ward

Providing front of house reception duties for patients, families and visitors

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following requirements:

A minimum of 2 years administrative/clerical experience

Experience in the health industry is preferred

Knowledge of hospital systems would be advantageous

Flexible to do shift work all days of the week

A positive ‘can do’ attitude and ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients

Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
