If you can hit the ground running when it comes to all things payroll and are looking for a challenging role where you will have an opportunity to make your mark this is the role for you!

We have several fantastic permanent or fixed term (until 30 June 2024) opportunities for experienced and motivated Senior Payroll Administrators to join this large global Government organisation. You will be supporting end-to-end payroll operations for our staff both in New Zealand and offshore. Having recently completed a significant payroll transformation project, we need people with the energy and capability to help us optimise our new SAP Success Factors payroll system and take payroll operations to the next level.

• Ensure the end-to-end fortnightly disbursement of payroll, including deductions, allowances, benefits and taxes etc. consistent with statutory and contractual conditions.
• Identify and implement improvements in operational processes, systems and tools.
• Establish strong working relationships with People leaders and staff across the Ministry.

The salary range for this role is between $68,722 to $87,812 total fixed remuneration, negotiable depending on skills and experience. The total remuneration is inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.

We’d like to hear from you if you are an experienced Payroll Manager with the following skills and experience:

• A minimum of three years’ experience processing and running end-to-end New Zealand based payroll operations
• Knowledge of and interest in Payroll related legalisation
• Experience in high volume, variable payroll
• A flexible attitude that means you can turn your hand to whatever is need
• A Customer centric mind-set and approach to problem solving.
• Proven track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy
• Previous payroll implementations experience preferable.

Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work. If you are just starting on this journey that’s OK too – as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
