Newable is looking to appoint a Mentor Relationship Adviser to join a dynamic team which will work to deliver the government’s Help to Grow: Management (HtG) course.
The main purpose of the role is to develop a close relationship with the voluntary mentors signed up to the Help to Grow: Management course, to be their first point of contact and to assist the mentors when resolving all and any issues that arise.
You will also be a main point of contact for participants on the course and assist them in all matters relating to mentors, in particular the process of matching mentors to participants.
You will need to work collaboratively with other members of the HtG consortium – Enterprise Nation and the Association of Business Mentors – and other stakeholders including the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS).
You will need to have wide-ranging business support experience, having preferably run a business yourself in the past and/or worked in a senior position in a corporate for at least five years. You should be of graduate calibre and have in-depth knowledge and skills to support mentors and participants in navigating through the course.
A background of working with SMEs and the ability to demonstrate empathy for entrepreneurial culture and to build effective relationships at board level are crucial. You will be a confident networker and be able to build professional relationships with other public and private sector business support providers at a local level. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
Some specialist knowledge in a particular business function or sector would be an additional asset, and previous experience as a mentor would be asset.
