We currently have a great opportunity for a Graduate Software Engineer with solid academic accomplishments to join our team of software engineers at our Research & Development office in the Newcastle office.
This is an entry-level position working in a small agile team investigating, directing and supporting a range of software architectures and development activities.
Application development of Software as a Service applications, supporting APIs and tools.
Ensure all code is tested as part of development tasks.
Defect investigation and other software maintenance activities.
Work with mentor to become familiar with NextGen.Net products, development environment, tools and processes by working on preliminary project tasks.
What you need:
Experience with or exposure to object oriented development languages, for example: Java, C#, C++.
Experience with or exposure to JavaEE or .Net frameworks.
Demonstrable skills through university results and project work.
Unrestricted work rights in Australia.
What would be nice
Experience with or exposure to relational databases and SQL scripting.
Experience with NOSQL data stores (CouchDB, MongoDB, Cassandra or similar).
Experience with High Availability object stores (OpenStack Swift, S3 or similar).
Experience with JavaEE servers such as Glassfish.
Familiarity with XML/XSD/XSLT/SOAP or JSON/JSONSchema/JavaScript/REST/OpenAPI.
Experience with Map/Reduce or other web scale data analysis techniques and tools.
Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
An understanding and practical experience in testing code.
