We are seeking a talented Management Accountant to join Ngāi Tahu Holdings to directly support and partner with the Ngāi Tahu Farming & Forestry business unit.

As part of the Te Hou (Finance) shared service team, this will see you working within a professional community of like-minded specialists to support a diverse range of businesses. Our objectives for the centralised support model are a superior service culture and excellence in service delivery.

Reporting to Farming Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for accounting and financial business support across our Farming and Forestry portfolio of assets and commercial ventures. In this key role you will build relationships with key customers, turn data into insights and bring the numbers to life! You will work closely with Business Unit Managers and provide support to decision-making. This is an exciting opportunity to influence our new ways of working, ensure service excellence to our customers and ultimately deliver value to Ngāi Tahu whānui.

Ngāi Tahu Holdings is the wholly-owned investment company of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. Through the management of capital investment and operating a portfolio of commercial entities including Tourism, Seafood, Property, Farming, Forestry and Honey we have the collective responsibility to protect and grow the Ngāi Tahu tribal pūtea and Settlement assets for future generations “Mō tātou, ā, mō kā uri a muri ake nei” (for us and our children after us).

We are looking for a talented and driven individual with:

• A relevant tertiary qualification, with CA to CAANZ preferred
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a corporate or professional services environment
• Prior experience of monthly accounting processes in a shared service operation
• Prior accounting experience within the agricultural sector is beneficial, but not essential
• Agile and responsive style of customer service delivery
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a team environment
• Advanced skills in Microsoft product suite
• Familiarity with the Treaty of Waitangi and its application to the work of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu.
• An affinity for service-leadership to our Ngāi Tahu whānau.
• An ability and willingness to learn and engage in te reo and tikanga Māori.
