Dedicated Fleet Manager
The Dedicated Fleet Manager is responsible for supporting and coordinating efforts across the following teams: Shipping, Planning, Customer Service, Procurement, and Transportation. This leader manages the team that performs all tracking and exceptions management tasks for all customer orders and internal transfers. In addition, s/he is the key champion for maximizing both operational efficiency and effectiveness for her/his responsible geographic region without sacrificing cost and service.
Essential Functions
Facilitates collaboration across all supply chain operational teams within responsible region
Manages the efficient and timely tracking of customer/internal shipments across the network
Oversees the creation and maintenance of all transfer shipment orders within region
Champions the relentless reduction of all supply chain operational exceptions within region
Provides input and helps implement system-wide solutions to minimize cost while achieving targeted service levels to customers
Leads and participates actively in the development of all logistical operations processes
Supports workflow design and optimization of logistical systems utilized within the department
Executes planned raws and finished goods flows across a network of 8+ warehouses to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency without sacrificing cost or service
Participates in the execution of strategic planning for new customers, items, packaging, facilities, or other organizational changes as they relate to Supply Chain
Processes map the current role and its contribution to the overall business process and develop your team’s KPI’s
Leads, motivates, and develops your team in a demanding environment to deliver on operational KPIs
Utilizes lean six sigma approach to reduce non value add steps in your frontline team member’s day to day tasks
Sets up career development plans for team members and create simple and measurable KPI’s for your frontline team members
Maintains and nurtures relationship with manufacturing team leadership and understand key dynamics of each facility.
Works cross-functionally with various supporting teams (Planning, carrier relations, intra logistics, customer service, after hours team ) to ensure the logistics team is offering exceptional customer experiences and meeting its key KPI’s
Analyzes the key drivers of service failure and increase in freight costs and create actionable strategies
Be a Subject-Matter Expert (SME) on team’s processes and policies
Responsible for identifying trends within your team’s performance as well as overall support trends by analyzing the transaction and support data.
Encourages continuous process improvement geared towards reducing the number of support transactions.
Works with the frontline team members as needed, has a positive attitude and is able to inspire and motivate the team during crisis
This position requires approximately 25% travel
