Editor

Role

Collects new and updates existing entertainment data for key audio on demand (podcast) database fields. Establishes and enhances database records and assets. Maintains accurate database information for timely use in supporting current domestic and international products.

Responsibilities

• Review and consolidate incoming content data to records in our media databases.

• Apply independent judgment to review, correct, and classify entertainment data elements according to established standards and practices.

• Enhance content, adding metadata such as categories, personnel, keywords, descriptors and other classifications.

• Investigate, confirm and document questionable content via research, and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of our data.

• Identify and collect images available for processing.

• Ensure the accuracy of data and authenticity of program information and timely delivery to in-house personnel.

• Flag entities, using internal criteria, for follow-on work / escalate problem records.

• Provide feedback on editorial tools improvement and operational needs and collaborate with the worldwide editorial team.

Qualifications

• Quality-focused individual who is detail-oriented with good judgment, critical thinking, and a strong capacity for spotting trends and/or anomalies.

• Impeccable writing and verbal skills in Spanish

• Experience reviewing and navigating large amounts of textual information.

• Ability to abide by and inform style guidelines to ensure data consistency.

• Skilled at online research about entertainment and news, and the ability to translate this into organized data.

• Passionate and knowledgeable on regional news, pop culture, media, as well as popular trends and news in other parts of the world.

• Advanced English writing and verbal skills.

• Must be able to work accurately under deadline and willing to work outside regular business hours.

• Windows proficiency and/or experience using other computer software and databases with excellent keyboarding skills.

Good to have

• Experience using controlled vocabularies

• Experience with tagging listings for cross-classification purposes

• Podcast fan and subscriber

• Have edited for mainstream entertainment publications, and or worked with entertainment metadata in the past for either a content creation or a label.

• Degree in a humanities discipline (language, film, fine art, journalism ..) is a plus.

• Experience working for international companies and satellite offices.
