As the Brand Creative Writer in Nike Basketball, you will help build the voice that expresses the heart and soul of Nike specific to the game of basketball and the culture that it inspires.

You are familiar with working in close partnership with the lead narrative director, designers, producers, and marketers with an ability to both understand and participate in strategic conversations and can lead others through the creative process.
As an expert, you will be a team player delivering outstanding writing, with results that include headline and body copy for print, out-of-home, retail, and other consumer-facing creative work. You will help develop the voice of basketball on social media, inclusive of concepts, captions, and reactive efforts. Collaborating with internal partners to help craft brand and seasonal strategy and product positioning.
You will create work for the highest standards of quality, consistency, and accuracy to ensure all projects are well-planned, creatively outstanding, and delivered on time. Finally, as a key member creative team, you will encourage and motivate your teammates around you, working in a hands-on and highly collaborative manner to produce fresh, distinctive, effective writing.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Drive complex workstreams independently and direct others in order to develop a well-crafted narrative. Work to lead and deliver end-to-end creative concepts across Product Launches, Brand Stories, Retail Executions, and Consumer Events working from idea phase through pitch/presentation and finishing with premium executions at all levels across all channels. This includes: Seasonal Stories/Products, Long Term Consumer Concepts, Construct Specifics, Purpose Stories, Sport/Cultural Moments, Social Media Content. This will also include designated teams supporting both Creative Operations and Production.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, playing a pivotal role in implementing creative storytelling across all of our channels, always thinking about the next click. Partner with the team around you to translate briefs and marketing plans into emotive and innovative stories. You will lead workstreams independently developing and crafting creative concepts for both product launches and campaigns across the globe.
Multitasking different projects will require you to carefully plan and manage your schedule effectively. Working closely with the senior creatives, you’ll play a part in crafting the future voice and storyline of the brand across every consumer touchpoint.
You will proactively learn new skills and stay abreast of technical and digital developments and successfully apply these to work practices. You’ll share this knowledge with the wider design community and work with them to ensure continuity across our initiatives and projects.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will report to the Basketball Narrative Director, but day-to-day you’ll work with the copywriters, alongside designers, producers, and communication professionals, partnering closely with Brand Creative senior leaders. You will also work directly with internal and external creatives – commissioning various work across multiple fields. You’ll be required to collaborate with your counterparts across the Geo and Territory Studios to help establish and develop our creative network.
Within the broader Marketing organization, you will work closely with the Basketball construct team to strategize and implement the annual concept map, developing and delivering creativity that answers the brief.
Aside from the day-to-day, you may get the opportunity to mentor and lead others within your subject area, supporting their growth and development.
