In your role as Quality Engineer you’ll play a key role in driving your Squad’s quality practices, tools and processes as you embark on an exciting greenfield project to deliver Nine’s audacious digital audio strategy.

This role suits someone who is interested in working across both web and mobile, with a primary focus on mobile applications built using React Native.

Who are you?

You’re an experienced quality engineer for web-based applications and are excited by the thought of deep diving into quality engineering for React Native mobile applications.

You enjoy being challenged and take delight in overcoming technical obstacles. Your passion for quality engineering drives you to continually improve your craft and learn new and effective ways of doing things.

You take pride in working with others to build high quality high performance products that delight and are depended on by their audiences.

You genuinely care about those around you and your positive and open customer-centred approach makes you approachable and a pleasure to work with.

Agile work & planning practices are second nature to how you operate.

What you’ll know

As a Quality Engineer you’ll be responsible for:

• Being the voice of quality in the team
• Coding alongside engineers, deploying to test and production environments
• Building, using and improving various automation tools and frameworks
• Identifying, highlighting and implementing quality improvements across the product, process and culture
• Setting directions for quality tooling and strategy
• Working in small autonomous Agile squads
• Providing mentorship to other engineers, instilling a strong focus on security and quality
• Exercising values of shifting quality left in a dynamic, Agile – DevOps model of software delivery

To be successful for this role, we’re looking for a person

• With proven engineering skills
• Who can utilise their technical and automation skills (full stack) to get things done
• With a strong quality mindset
• Who believes in shifting quality left, using their influence and persuasion to bring the team along
• With excellent analytical skills
• With DevOps knowledge
• That is self-starting and has a desire to learn and be the quality advocate for the team

Bonus points:

• Experience using Jest and React Native Testing Library
• Experience in testing native iOS and Android applications
• Experience using native mobile build and deployment tools
• Experience building and deploying solutions on AWS or other cloud platforms
