Bucksmore Education is a leading provider of academic short courses for international students of all ages. Established in 1979, Bucksmore has grown rapidly in the past few years, and in ‘non-Covid’ years we would expect to welcome over 3,500 students throughout the year from all over the world.
Home Tuition Teachers
Due to strong demand, we are looking to increase our number of host teachers. Our students come from around the world and study General English, School Subjects (Maths, Science, GCSE/A Level), Exam Preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, PET, FCE, CAE) or Business English courses. In addition to EFL trained applicants, we are therefore interested in talking with teachers who can teach school subject courses (Maths, Science, GCSEs & A Levels) as well as teachers that have specialised English experience (Business, Finance, Law, Medical, Aviation and Sales).
Bucksmore Education is looking for teachers in the south-east region who would like to host and teach students in their own homes. We are particularly interested in teachers with native-level English who live in the Oxford, London, Cambridge or Brighton areas, although applicants from other areas would be welcomed.
Home tuition teachers:
Our English immersion course packages consist of between 15 – 25 hours of tuition, a personalised course, accommodation and meals at the teacher’s house, 2 half day local area excursions and 1 full day excursion for stays of more than one week. The course is held in the teacher’s home. The teacher must be prepared to take the students on these local excursions.
We always ask teachers first before placing students with them and where possible we match students and teachers based on shared interests and backgrounds. There will be an induction to the role and ongoing support from the Academic Manager with online webinars and training. The Academic Manager is also happy to assist with planning and academic queries. There are materials for young learner and exam preparation courses available.
Bucksmore Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects that teachers will share these values. Applicants must be based in the UK and Ireland and be able to host students in their own home.
Competitive rates are paid to teachers. They receive from £500 to £965 per week depending on student requirements. These are freelance/self-employed opportunities.
Initial closing date 31st December 2021 although applications received after this date may be considered.
