RESEARCH ANALYST (CASUAL)
RESEARCH & ACADEMIC INNOVATION
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Research or Manager, Applied Research, the Research Analyst supports the College in meeting its Strategic Plan by supporting rigorous higher education research, applied research, grant writing, and environmental scanning. The position requires self-direction, good relationship skills, and strong knowledge of research tools, methods, and procedures.
Three to four casual positions are available. In particular, the Research Office is seeking candidates who can support one or more of: grant writing, applied research and evaluation, and/or environmental scanning.
Workloads vary based on project requirements and may include periods where no projects are available. Candidates can expect to work between 10 and 25 hours per week during assignments, with flexible scheduling and remote-work options.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Coordinating and conducting research with internal and external stakeholders, including the administration, analysis, and reporting of surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
- Preparing research grant applications for federal, provincial, and other granting agencies, including collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifying research and funding opportunities.
- Preparing research ethics board applications.
- Advising and guiding researchers on project development, implementation, and analysis.
- Conducting environmental scans, literature reviews, and report summaries.
- Conducting analysis of qualitative and/or quantitative public or institutional data.
- Writing research reports, summaries, announcements, and other communications for diverse audiences.
- Ad hoc projects and additional responsibilities as required.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A graduate degree completed or in progress in a discipline related to the position (sociology, education, anthropology, etc.).
- 3+ years’ research experience, including demonstrated experience throughout the research cycle, including design, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
- Experience with Research Ethics Board applications and principles for ethical conduct in research is an asset.
- Experience securing major grants is an asset.
