Location: Scunthorpe – will be required to visit various schools within North Lincolnshire
Salary: Grade 7 £25,991 to £30,451 per year
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Temporary Full time 37 hours until 31/03/2022 then 32 hours until 31/12/2022

The Compliance and Case Management team are seeking to employ a temporary 37 hour Education Inclusion Officer up to 31/03/2022 which will then change to 32 hours until 31/12/2022.
This will involve working in partnership with a multitude of agencies, services and schools to secure positive outcomes for children and young people.
This is a temporary role to cover the secondment of the previous post holder. The successful candidate would be expected to commence their temporary contract with the team as soon as possible. Applicants who wish to apply as a secondment to this team must have their line manager’s permission to apply prior to completion of their application.
As part of your role, you will have responsibility for carrying out casework in relation to school attendance, children missing in education, elective home education, looked after children in education, alternative provision and exclusions. You will be expected to support families through the school exclusion process with appropriate challenge where necessary.
The successful candidate will be expected to initiate legal proceedings in respect of irregular school attendance and may be called to give evidence in the court process. You should possess personal attributes such as the ability to relate to and communicate effectively with children, young people and adults in an empathic way, developing rapport with children, young people and their families as well as handling difficult and sensitive situations in a calm, fair and confident manner.
You will be able to identify effective ways of delivering early intervention and support to children and the family as a whole.
The successful applicant will have a good standard of education and be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
