North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.
Candidates must be able to meet the standards required to obtain and hold a Secret or Higher US Government Clearance
The Environmental Specialist/Engineer supports environmental and compliance projects throughout the western US. Supports the sampling of various media, eld data collection activities including groundwater quality and GPS surveys, and support environmental drilling operations. Support project management, prepare planning documents and reports, supports eld teams conducting site assessments, and interacts with regulatory agencies to develop successful solutions to project challenges. Applies regulatory scientic principles to assist clients in the following areas:
Environmental impact assessment and mitigation
Site investigation
Regulatory compliance
Soil and groundwater remediation
Land management
Waste management and other environmental areas.
Job Description
Position requires a BS degree in science or engineering and 3 to 5 years of experience. PG or PE is preferred.
Perform field work to collect soil, water, air, or other samples.
Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists, to address environmental problems.
Provide scientific and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to governmental agencies, environmental programs, industry, or the public.
Communicate scientific and technical information to clients, or internal audiences through oral briefings, written documents, and formal meetings.
Inspect facilities and programs to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
May review permit applications and/or enforcing rules and regulations pertaining to environmental protection.
Participate in the preparation of work plans for a wide variety of customers.
Prepare, review, and update technical and recommendation reports.
Provide assistance in regulatory analysis, and planning or reviewing database development.
Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures.
Provide technical-level support for environmental remediation and investigation projects.
Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs.
Participate in field efforts to support the successful execution of projects.
Participate in the preparation of work plans and reports for a wide variety of customers.
Under the guidance of the Project Manager, evaluate analytical laboratory data and draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Coordinate with subcontractors to determine project schedules.
Direct field activities under the guidance of the Field Manager.
Arrange travel and logistics for projects.
Qualifications
