Northrop Grumman’s Missions Systems sector is seeking a Program Manager, Level 2 to support the Launcher Operating Unit located in our Sunnyvale, CA facility. This leadership position will report to the Program Support Manager.
Job Description:
Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
This position can be virtual from any US state or hybrid from Sunnyvale, CA or Cape Canaveral, FL.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant project or program management experience, or Master’s degree and 5+ years relevant experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries is required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
Management of efforts under US military contracts
Strong communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to explain complex concepts and systems to customers and shape their decision process
Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager
Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal
U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of US Department of Defense acquisition process.
Working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards
Knowledge of Government Contracts and related documents
A proactive approach to continuous process improvement
Experience managing Government proposals
Experience with information assurance regulations and practices
Positive, result-driven attitude, and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed locations and organizations.
This position reports to Sunnyvale, CA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.
Salary Range: $127,700 USD – $221,800 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
