Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautic Systems sector is looking for a Manager Programs 2/ Air Vehicle Manager in Palmdale, California.
Air Vehicle Manager manages a segment of a program or a function. The Air Vehicle Manager is responsible for the direct supervision/management of the staff and for providing objective oriented direction to department managers/supervisors and core team members utilizing management guidelines & general policies. The AVM will direct all phases of programs from inception through completion while reporting directly to Director of Depot & Modification Center.
Air Vehicle Manger responsibilities are as follows:
Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program constraints and manages solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
Is primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer.
Responsible for planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large delivery order or mid-size technical services-type contract.
The AVM will have full working knowledge of procedures and practices and makes decisions that support accomplishments or discipline objective.
Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. Manage, jointly with department define key general position “day-to-day” tasks/key projects and /or goals (linked to Aircraft Operation Plan or Organizational goals/objectives).
Evaluate performance based on defined expectations while overseeing projects and task assigned to the organizational group performed by non-exempt and/or exempt employees.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree 7+years of applicable experience and or Master’s Degree with 5+years of applicable experience
Prior experience with aircraft management
An active DoD Secret Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain special program access
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience leading proposal efforts that have resulted in contract capture
Experience in communicating across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate capabilities and communicate technical abilities and analysis with internal stakeholders and external customers

Salary Range: $140,600.00 – $210,800.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
