Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Field Engineering is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Field Technician out of our Elkridge, Maryland office to provide troubleshooting and repair support to the engineering team for the TPS-80 G/ATOR radar and associated systems. This position supports radar operations by performing system checks and directly assists the engineering team with operating and test procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment.

• Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.

• Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades, and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.

• Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below:

Basic Qualifications for Principal:

• High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree in a technical field plus 2 years of relevant experience.

• US Citizen with Active DoD Secret Clearance

• Must have experience reading and interpreting assembly drawings and schematics.

• Must be able to trouble-shoot both electrical and mechanical assemblies.

• Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal:

• High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree in a technical field plus 4 years of relevant experience.

• US Citizen with Active DoD Secret Clearance

• Must have experience reading and interpreting assembly drawings and schematics.

• Must be able to trouble-shoot both electrical and mechanical assemblies.

• Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Former military with 2-4 years’ experience in TPS-80 G/ATOR radar and associated systems.

• Experience with Windows based networks

Salary Range: $58,800 USD – $98,000 USD

Salary Range 2: $69,800 USD – $116,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
