Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Health & Safety Analyst to join our team. This position may sit at any major NGMS campus.
Roles and responsibilities:
Develops, implements, and maintains sector occupational health programs to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation.
Advises on qualitative and quantitative hazard assessments to include exposure monitoring for physical and chemical agents.
Provides technical support for industrial and office ergonomic evaluations to reduce risk factors that cause musculoskeletal disorders.
Conducts sector compliance inspections and identifies actions necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
Reviews and interprets existing and proposed health, and safety (H&S) regulations to determine applicability and impact for sector sites.
Partners with site EHSFP, engineers, scientists, and management to support the integration of H&S into the design of new or altered processes and operations and building construction projects.
Works to continuously improve the culture, awareness and accountability of sector H&S programs.
Interfaces with regulatory representatives, senior management, the site EHSFP and other key stakeholders on compliance issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, safety sciences or a related field, and a minimum of nine (9) years of experience in the practice of industrial hygiene and safety; (or a Master of Science (MS) in the same disciplines with seven (7) years of experience in the practice of industrial hygiene and safety.)
The candidate must be a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Experience in completing industrial hygiene assessments/sampling and assessing the health impact of physical and chemical agents.
Knowledge and/or experience with RF radiation, laser operation and ionizing radiation.
Experience with managing various H&S compliance programs based on the review and interpretation of H&S regulations.
Ability to analyze complex problems and to develop innovative solutions based on sound industrial hygiene and/or safety engineering principles.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Excellent risk communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science (MS) degree in an industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, safety sciences or a related field, or currently enrolled in an MS degree program.
Experience with supporting H&S programs for manufacturing and testing of electrical equipment.
Computer based skills specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programs.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Tableau.
Experience in interacting with a union labor workforce.
Experience with application of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and/or international building codes to hazardous materials use and storage.
Good understanding of chemistry and its application to personal protective equipment (PPE) selection, chemical processes and compatibilities.
Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).
Experience as a Laser Safety Officer (LSO).
Experience with overseeing third party consultants/contractors.
MAQEA
Salary Range: $89,800.00 – $155,900.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
