Our Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) Team will deliver truly fifth generation, multi-domain battlespace management capabilities to meet the needs of the Australian Defence Force to defeat evolving air, missile and hypersonic threats. Using proven US-based systems and architectures, our IAMD team will integrate fifth generation platforms, advanced sensors and effectors for a truly joint view of the battlespace and will enable net-centric decision-making.We are seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the development and capability of the Australian Integration Air and Missile Defence software capability. Working in a DevSecOps development environment, you will work across the full spectrum of software engineering, build and test software prototypes and products, and integrate locally developed products with world-leading software product lines.Key duties & responsibilities:

• Contribute to collaborative software development for the program
• Develop software within the DevSecOps software engineering CI/CD environment using Agile methodologies
• Work effectively as an active participant within Agile Software Teams spanning Australia and the US.
• Build strong relationships with end user stakeholders (system operators and maintainers) within the customer and industry organisations
• Leverage modern HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) development and human engineering approaches to user interface development
• Conduct trade studies to select approaches, tools or software products associated with HMI development
• Develop and integrate local software components, with a focus on user interfaces.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree qualified Software Engineer
• Proven Software development experience in one or more languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, etc.
• Proven experience developing front end graphical user interfaces for software systems.
• Australian Citizen ideally with a Negative Vetting 1 clearance, or a Baseline as minimum.

Desired experience

• Experience in use of DevSecOps tools and processes within a Continuous Development/Continuous Integration environment
• Experience working within an Agile Team using Scrum or similar agile methodologies
• Familiarity with modern human engineering and user experience approaches to development of HMIs
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in containersation and virtualization technologies
• Experience contributing to the development of new principles and concepts
• Experience developing advanced technological ideas and guiding their development into a final product
