Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Principal /Sr. Principal Network Engineer to support the Remote Ground Station program.
As a Network Engineer, you will; design, develop, configure, integrate, install, and test network systems.
The candidates will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:
• Design and plan network communication systems
• Provide specification and detailed schematics for network architecture
• Define and develop techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs to include current and future capacity
• Conduct testing of network design
• Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interface such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
• Troubleshoot, upgrade and implement improvements to the entire enclave, to include but not limited to Cisco and Juniper
• Perform Trade Study analysis to identify the network architecture solution
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal or Sr. Principal Level.
Basic Qualifications:
• Principal Engineer: 5 Years’ experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD; or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
• Sr Principal Engineer: 9 Years’ experience with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD; or 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
• A current active Secret clearance
• Experience with, and knowledge of, Cisco IOS and Cisco Nexus Operating systems
• Experience with Cisco appliances, specifically Firepower firewalls and TACACS+ services
• Intimate knowledge and experience designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Network switching and routing protocols.
• Ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ CE certification (IAT II or higher) within the first 6 months of employment
• Experience with, and knowledge of, virtualization technology to include VMWare and virtual switching/routing
Preferred Qualifications:
• In depth understanding of IPV4 Network sub/super netting, CIDR, and DNS
• Understanding and experience designing and maintaining a large scale Multicast deployment, to include IGMP and PIM protocols
• Experience with ServiceNow submitting and tracking requests
• Understanding and experience with designing, writing, and implementing FCRs – Experience with SolarWinds or other Network Management tools
• Experience with WAN operations and protocols
• A current active TS w/ SCI eligibility
• A valid CompTIA Security+ CE certification (IAT II or higher)
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification
Salary Range: $92,200.00 – $138,400.00Salary Range 2: $114,300.00 – $171,500.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
