NTU is a university at the peak of its powers, but we know we can still go even further. Join us in our mission to become ‘the university of the future’ — seize the challenge and adventure of working with an organisation where progress never stops. This is your career, reimagined.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Nottingham Trent University, Community Liaison Team. The successful candidate will work across each Campus and within the community, supporting the Community Liaison Coordinators. and become a point of contact as you engage with our students on appropriate ways of disposing of household waste, specifically addressing issues off campus of bins being left out on pavements, contamination of waste, waste reduction, increasing recycling and promoting sustainability.
This is a front facing role so your communication skills will be key to engaging as you will be visible in the community representing Nottingham Trent University working very closely with statutory agencies, private landlords, tenants and residents plus other educational establishments as you build relationships at street level within the community and with our students. You will undertake waste audits, street inspections, ward walks with local counsellors and have the flexibility to plan your own initiatives as you provide education informing our students. This particularly includes environmental awareness on waste management issues with the key aim of resolving poor waste practises and delivering positive outcomes across campus, within the community and around the parks and open spaces vised by our students.
The role provides flexibility and there will be the occasional need to work periodically out of hours during the summer months to visit parks and open spaces.
