Working with a vision of “delivering excellence in everything we do”, the Practice Development Lead (International Nurse Education) will work to provide professional leadership, and support for International Nurse Education teams delivering on programmes preparing international nurses for undertaking the Test of Competence OSCE with the NMC
The PDL will be accountable for ensuring high quality education provision is provided for international nurses preparing to undertake the test of competence. The PDL is responsible for ensuring the NMC standards of proficiency are met – ensuring theory and practice learning and assessment are facilitated effectively and objectively by appropriately qualified and experienced professionals with necessary expertise for their educational and assessor roles.
The post holder will respond effectively to the learning needs of individuals and ensure practice assessors and supervisors are trained. They will be supportive and objective in their approach to clinical supervision and assessment.

Whilst this role is hosted by NUH, this is a pivotal role in supporting international nurse education across the integrated care system of Nottinghamshire.
The PDL will be a strong clinical leader, easily identifiable, highly visible and accessible to corporate and divisional education leads, divisional nurses, senior midwifery leaders and practice supervisors and assessors. He/she will have a particular responsibility to liaise with NMC and clinical teams to appropriately share and make decisions on international nurse assessment and progression. The PDL will work with the ADN and ICS leads to respond appropriately to complaints and risks.
He/She will support service improvement by responding to the learning needs and changing NMC requirements related to international nurse education. The post holder will ensure the active involvement of education leads, leads senior nurses and midwives in the way practice learning and clinical support are developed, delivered and evaluated. Leading by example he/she will drive up standards of test of competence education and have the authority to get the essential components of this right for learners –ensuring quality in experience , well-being and pastoral support. They will work in partnership with ICS partners to ensure robust governance systems and processes for nurse education resolving problems and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout, ensuring NUH and Nottingham Integrated Care System has a reputation as an excellent education provider and employer of choice.
This post holder will need to be highly motivated, a skilled communicator and have evidence of a substantial understanding of supporting learners in practice, experience in supporting international nurses is preferred. You will be a registered nurse, NMC registered with contemporary clinical experience in acute care nursing, a first degree and evidence of masters level study.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
