Role & Responsibilities:

Provide expert care to patients and their families in accordance with Nurse Practitioner legislation, including:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments and diagnoses
• Prescribing medications as needed
• Ordering and interpreting pathology and radiological tests
• Providing telehealth consults to patients
• Referring patients to appropriate health professionals
• Managing patient care upon referral from other health professionals
• Prescribing and administering approved formulary medications
• Participating in peer and case review procedures as guided by the Manager, Senior Nurse Practitioner, or Collaborating Medical Practitioners
• Contributing to clinic workforce development programs
• Follow clinic procedures and policies
• Complete accurate documentation
• Understand clinic equipment usage per manufacturer instructions
• Ensure patient information security at all times
• Apply “Quality Use of Medicines” for patient wellbeing

Skills & Experience:   
 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Prior experience in working with general practice teams would be an advantage.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse Practitioner with current AHPRA registration.
